Higher-level PPS systems are not able to plan production orders with the engineering requirements exactly fine-tuned due to the strongly commercial view.
The problems, e.g. inaccurate scheduling, lack of consideration of the current situation in production, lack of updating of order lead times in the event of production changes and machine malfunctions, and lack of consideration of the special features in logistics chains, are well known.
Remedy is provided by the GRP planning board, which – integrated in the GRP system – supports the scheduler in all planning activities.
Basically, all planning scenarios up to complex, parallel multi-level planning are covered by the system.
